Our story began long before Jonnie May Cares opened its doors in 2023. For more than twenty years, our leadership walked hospital halls, community clinics, and neighborhood streets, listening to people who felt forgotten between discharge papers and unstable housing. We witnessed elders sent back to unsafe places and neighbors recovering on couches.
Those early years shaped our belief that real healing needs more than medicine. It needs a bed that feels safe, meals shared at a table, and staff who know each resident by name and story. We created a group home that blends professional nursing, housing navigation, and daily support, so people leaving hospitals, jails, or the street could recover with dignity and steady guidance.
Today, our team uses decades of nursing and community care experience to support geriatric, post-acute, incarcerated, and unhoused clients. Every care plan reflects the whole person, including medical needs, history, and hopes. We walk beside residents through IV therapy, recuperative care, and rehoming steps, always aiming for long-term stability, not temporary fixes.
We listen first, then respond with patient, non-judgmental, steady support.
We protect residents with clinical oversight, secure housing, and calm routines.
We honor each story, respecting culture, history, and future goals.
